Summer’s out, let’s get HEALTHY!

With students out of school and a sunny memorial day to welcome the summer, Healthy Teens is excited to announce that the 2022 Summer Programs begin next week at various locations in Manatee and Sarasota County!

The teams of Teen Health Educators and Young Adult Leaders are trained and eager to have in-person conversations with teens about topics aimed to reduce risky behaviors such as: conflict resolution and leadership skills, mental health awareness, trauma management, healthy relationships and sexual health importance.

At the Youth Health Awards 2022, Healthy Teens recently celebrated the achievements of the newest members of the Teen Health Educator Program, who joined in Fall 2021. This bright-eyed group of over twenty teens are ready serve our community this summer alongside the existing team of Teen Health Educators and Young Adult Leaders.

We are eager to say hello to familiar faces as we return to several wonderful locations and are excited to meet new friends as we partner with several new organizations. The locations that will be generously hosting our teams this summer include: DeSoto Boys and Girls Club, Palmetto Boys and Girls Club, Family Resources Safe Place 2B youth shelter, Educational Consultants Consortium, Safe Children Coalition, and AMI Kids Manatee

If you are interested in joining the team as a Teen Health Educator, applications are LIVE until August 31, 2022, and can be found here.

The summer programs are Healthy Teen’s busiest time of year and we are so excited to kick off the summer as we continue educating and empowering our youth one day at a time!.
